Steve Moore, 36, is a former Welsh International rugby player whose playing career spanned 16 years, straddling the amateur and professional era of top class rugby. Most of his professional career was spent playing in South Wales for Swansea RFC and Cardiff RFC (10 years combined), with two spells at English clubs Moseley RFC and Orrell RFC and two seasons in the French Championship with RCM Narbonne.
Steve's playing philosophy is built on 100% commitment to training, a strong defensive strategy, an organized team structure and a willingness to exploit an opportunity wherever it presents itself on the pitch. This philosophy was born from an amalgamation of thoughts, methods and processes employed by a number of the top coaches from around the World that he worked with throughout his playing career. Unfortunately his playing career was cut short in 2004, through injury at the age of 31.
Steve is a Level 2 WRU qualified coach with 7 years experience coaching at various levels. Steve also has 5 years experience of strengthening relationships with the local community through leading schools and community outreach projects at both Swansea and Cardiff.
Steve takes a keen interest in all sports with Rugby, Football, Cricket and Golf heading quite a long list. His family life at home in Southport revolves around sport too, with his two elder children involved in a number of different sports both at school and club level, His eldest son has recently signed forms with Blackburn Rovers Football Academy, joining the club at the age of 6yrs old. His daughter is a keen swimmer, competing regularly for the school. And Steve reckons that his youngest son, although only 18mths old, is already showing the signs of being a good front five forward. Built like a bull, he has a head down, backside up and worry about the consequences later mentality! Both Steve's elder children attend school locally at Merchant Taylors.
Steve is a lifelong Evertonian, being a season ticket holder and a shareholder.
